Countering the argument that they're little more than a GTA publisher, Take-Two has said that
they could potentially leverage their BioShock or Civilization IPs in the MMO space.

At the 2008 Smid Cap Conference, Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick discussed some of the
publisher's "potential untapped opportunities" and he seemed to indicate that the massively
multiplayer online space could be a good opportunity for hot intellectual properties such as
BioShock and Civilization.
BioShock of course was one of the biggest hits of 2007, especially for a new IP. The game has
now sold over two million units, and along with its recent earnings statement the company
confirmed that BioShock 2 is in the works for late 2009. Ken Levine will still be involved even
though 2K Marin, not 2K Boston, has been assigned the development duties.
As for the Civilization strategy franchise from industry legend Sid Meier, the series has sold well
over eight million units, and Meier is currently preparing Civilization Revolution for release this
year.
There's no denying the greatness of these two properties, but whether they'll ultimately
translate into great MMO experiences is another matter.
