New gear, user-created paint schemes and insignia icons are now available.

Incognito released a new patch for the online PS3 shooter Warhawk at the incredibly early hour
of 3 a.m. this morning.Among the updates, two new pieces of equipment have been added. The
Bio-field Emitter is a device that can be dropped like a mine that will slowly heal your
teammates or damage your opponents. Also added is the Mechanic Field Wrench, which is a
wrench (similar to the Engineer's in Team Fortress 2) that enables you to fix friendly vehicles
and damage enemy vehicles. In addition, the winners of the create-a-paint-scheme and create-
an-insignia contests have had their works integrated into Warhawk. You can now select from the
best of Warhawk's user-generated content in-game.Aside from these updates, various other
tweaks have been made including significant alterations to the VOIP voice-chat system. You can
now select between push-to-talk and open-mic as well as tune the voice-activation level so that
stray sounds don't interfere with your crucial orders. Cross-team chatter can be enabled as well
so that you can talk smack directly to the other team.PlayStation Home functionality is also
undergoing some refinement, which means nothing to most of us, because Sony has yet to
release Home to the general audience. Still, it's nice to be reminded it's part of Warhawk. For

Dylan Jobe's PlayStation blog or just watch a nifty video highlighting the Patch 1.3 changes.
